Det ble en meget trist sorti for Kevin O’Brien og Tromsø Storm. Kevin kom til klubben og byen for to måneder siden og har tatt oss alle med storm. Han er en meget god basketspiller som også har passet perfekt inn i laget, klubben og byen. Dessverre så skadet Kevin seg på trening sist fredag og måtte stå over helgens kamp mot Gimle. Nå viser nærmere undersøkelser at korsbåndet i venstre kne er avrevet og han trenger operasjon og er ute i kanskje 8-9 måneder. En utrolig tøff og trist nyhet for Kevin og klubben. Vi føler virkelig for Kevin nå.

I’m literally in tears as I write this out, but during Friday practice I suffered a significant knee injury and the results of the MRI have shown that I have suffered a torn ACL in my left knee. Unfortunately this means my season is now over and the next step is setting a date for my surgery to begin my road to recovery. For those who have followed me over the years, you know this is not my first rodeo with this injury. I’ve had 2 on my right knee and now 1 on my left. This is heartbreaking in many ways. For one, because of all the work that I’ve put in to get to this point, it’s important to try and stay positive because when things like this happen it can make you feel hopeless like it was all for nothing. But also because this team and this city have meant so much to me in the short time I’ve been here. After a bad situation in Mexico, this team and entire community have brought me in and allowed me to be myself and lead and they have treated me like family since the moment I got off the plane. So for that, thank you Tromsø, I will always have love for this place and for my coaches and teammates. I believe that people got to see the type of player I am during my time out there, and to those I say stay tuned because the player I will become will be 10x stronger and better than ever before. This is a new journey for me and I’m already anxiously excited to begin. HEIA STORM! I love you all.. BY ANY MEANS! -33
